ודוד סיב ושבע יומין ואמליך ית שלמה בריה על ישראל:
yshral el bryh shlmh yth wamlyk ywmyn wshbe syb wdwd
Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
2
וכנש ית כל רברבי ישראל וכהנא וליואי:
wlyway wkhna yshral rbrby kl yth wknsh
He gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.

ומנו ליואי מבר תלתין שנין ולעילא והוה מנינהון לגלגלתהון לגובריא תמני ותלתין אלפין:
alpyn wthlthyn thmny lgwbrya lglglthhwn mnynhwn whwh wleyla shnyn thlthyn mbr lyway wmnw
The Levites were counted from thirty years old and upward; and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.

מן אלין ממנן רבנין על עבידת בית מקדשא דיי ארבעה ועשרין אלפין וסרכיא ודיניא אשתה אלפין:
alpyn ashthh wdynya wsrkya alpyn weshryn arbeh dyy mqdsha byth ebydth el rbnyn mmnn alyn mn
David said, “Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of Yahweh’s house, six thousand were officers and judges,

וארבעה אלפין תרעיא וארבעה אלפין משבחיא קדם יי בזיני זמר די עבדית לשבחא :
lshbkha ebdyth dy zmr bzyny yy qdm mshbkhya alpyn warbeh threya alpyn warbeh
four thousand were doorkeepers, and four thousand praised Yahweh with the instruments which I made for giving praise.”

ופלגנון דוד פלגותא לבני לוי לגרשון קהת ומררי:
wmrry qhth lgrshwn lwy lbny plgwtha dwd wplgnwn
David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

בני לעדן דמתמנא לרישא יחיאל זיתם ויואל תלתא:
thltha wywal zythm ykhyal lrysha dmthmna ledn bny
The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, Zetham, and Joel, three.

בני שמעי שלומית וחזיאל והרן תלתא אלין רישי אבהתא לבית לעדן:
ledn lbyth abhtha ryshy alyn thltha whrn wkhzyal shlwmyth shmey bny
The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers’ households of Ladan.

ובני שמעי יחת זינא ויעוש ובריעה אלין בני שמעי ארבעה:
arbeh shmey bny alyn wbryeh wyewsh zyna ykhth shmey wbny
The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.

והוה יחת ממנא לרישא וזיזא תנינא ויעוש ובריעה לא אסגיעו בנין והוו לבית אבא ממנן למטרתא חדא:
khda lmTrtha mmnn aba lbyth whww bnyn asgyew la wbryeh wyewsh thnyna wzyza lrysha mmna ykhth whwh
Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second; but Jeush and Beriah didn’t have many sons; therefore they became a fathers’ house in one reckoning.

בני קהת עמרם ויצהר חברון ועזיאל ארבעה:
arbeh wezyal khbrwn wytshr emrm qhth bny
The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

בני עמרם אהרן ומשה ואתפרש אהרן לקדשותיה קודש קודשין הוא ובנוהי עד עלמא לאסקא קטורת בוסמין קדם יי לשמשותיה ולברכא בשמיה עד עלמא:
elma ed bshmyh wlbrka lshmshwthyh yy qdm bwsmyn qTwrth lasqa elma ed wbnwhy hwa qwdshyn qwdsh lqdshwthyh ahrn wathprsh wmshh ahrn emrm bny
The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was separated that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons forever, to burn incense before Yahweh, to minister to him, and to bless in his name forever.

ומשה נביא דיי ובנוהי אתקרון על שבטא דלוי:
dlwy shbTa el athqrwn wbnwhy dyy nbya wmshh
But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.

בני גרשום שבואל ממנא לרישא הוא יהונתן דאתמנא נביא שקרא ובסיבותיה עבד תתובא ומני יתיה דוד לרישא על אוצריא:
awtsrya el lrysha dwd ythyh wmny ththwba ebd wbsybwthyh shqra nbya dathmna yhwnthn hwa lrysha mmna shbwal grshwm bny
The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief.

והוו בני אליעזר רחביה ממנא לרישא ולא הוו לאליעזר בנין חורנין ובגין זכותיה דמשה רבו בני רחביה וסגיעו לעיל מן שיתין ריבבן:
rybbn shythyn mn leyl wsgyew rkhbyh bny rbw dmshh zkwthyh wbgyn khwrnyn bnyn lalyezr hww wla lrysha mmna rkhbyh alyezr bny whww
The son of Eliezer was Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.

בני יצהר שלומית ממנא לרישא:
lrysha mmna shlwmyth ytshr bny
The son of Izhar: Shelomith the chief.
19
בני חברון יריהו ממנא לרישא אמריה תנינא יחזיאל תליתאה ויקמעם רביעאה:
rbyeah wyqmem thlythah ykhzyal thnyna amryh lrysha mmna yryhw khbrwn bny
The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20
בני עזיאל מיכה ממנא לרישא וישיה תנינא:
thnyna wyshyh lrysha mmna mykh ezyal bny
The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
21
בני מררי מחלי ומושי בני מחלי אלעזר וקיש:
wqysh alezr mkhly bny wmwshy mkhly mrry bny
The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
22
ומית אלעזר ולא הוו ליה בנין אלהן בנן ונסיבנון בני קיש אחא דאבוהון:
dabwhwn akha qysh bny wnsybnwn bnn alhn bnyn lyh hww wla alezr wmyth
Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only; and their relatives, the sons of Kish, took them as wives.

בני מושי מחלי ועדר וירמות תלתא:
thltha wyrmwth wedr mkhly mwshy bny
The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
24
אלין בני לוי לבית אבהתהון רישי אבהן למנינהון במנין שמהן לגולגלתהון עבדי עבידתא לפלחן בית מקדשא דיי מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא:
wlela shnyn eshryn mbr dyy mqdsha byth lplkhn ebydtha ebdy lgwlglthhwn shmhn bmnyn lmnynhwn abhn ryshy abhthhwn lbyth lwy bny alyn
These were the sons of Levi after their fathers’ houses, even the heads of the fathers’ houses of those who were counted individually, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of Yahweh’s house, from twenty years old and upward.

ארום אמר דוד אניח מימרא דיי אלהא דישראל לעמיה ואשרי שכנתיה בירושלם עד לעלמא:
lelma ed byrwshlm shknthyh washry lemyh dyshral alha dyy mymra anykh dwd amr arwm
For David said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people; and he dwells in Jerusalem forever.

ולחוד אף לליואי לא כשר למיטל ית משכנא דיי וית כל מנוהי לפולחניה:
lpwlkhnyh mnwhy kl wyth dyy mshkna yth lmyTl kshr la llyway ap wlkhwd
Also the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service.”

ארום בפתגמי דוד דאתנבי ואמר בחורניתא הנון מנין בני לוי מבר עשרין שנין ולעלא:
wlela shnyn eshryn mbr lwy bny mnyn hnwn bkhwrnytha wamr dathnby dwd bpthgmy arwm
For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were counted, from twenty years old and upward.

ארום אתר משרויהון בסטר בני אהרן לפולחן בית מקדשא דיי על דרתיא ועל לשכיא ועל דכותא לכל קודשא ועבידת פולחן בית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha byth pwlkhn webydth qwdsha lkl dkwtha wel lshkya wel drthya el dyy mqdsha byth lpwlkhn ahrn bny bsTr mshrwyhwn athr arwm
For their duty was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of Yahweh’s house—in the courts, in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;

וללחם סדורא ולסולתא ולמנחתא ולאספוגין פטירין ולמסריתא ולרביבא ולכל מכילתא ומשחתא:
wmshkhtha mkyltha wlkl wlrbyba wlmsrytha pTyryn wlaspwgyn wlmnkhtha wlswltha sdwra wllkhm
for the show bread also, and for the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked in the pan, or of that which is soaked, and for all measurements of quantity and size;

ולמקם בצפר בצפר לאודויי ולשבחוי קדם יי וכדנן לרמשא:
lrmsha wkdnn yy qdm wlshbkhwy lawdwyy btspr btspr wlmqm
and to stand every morning to thank and praise Yahweh, and likewise in the evening;
31
ולכל עדן דמתסקן עלון קדם יי ליומי שביא ולרישי ירחיא ולמועדיא במניניא כד חמי להון תדירא קדם יי:
yy qdm thdyra lhwn khmy kd bmnynya wlmwedya yrkhya wlryshy shbya lywmy yy qdm elwn dmthsqn edn wlkl
and to offer all burnt offerings to Yahweh on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before Yahweh;

ויטרון ית מטרת משכן זמנא וית מטרת קודשא ומטרת בני אהרן אחוהון לעבידת בית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha byth lebydth akhwhwn ahrn bny wmTrth qwdsha mTrth wyth zmna mshkn mTrth yth wyTrwn
and that they should keep the duty of the Tent of Meeting, the duty of the holy place, and the duty of the sons of Aaron their brothers for the service of Yahweh’s house.
